How to Write a Proactive Resume

So, you’re ready to write a resume. You sit down and think about what it is that makes you stand out against hundreds of other candidates. Well, if the phrases “go-getter,” “hard worker,” or “self-motivated” come to mind, you may want to rethink what you’re writing. According to Business Insider, a CareerBuilder survey listed those commonly used phrases as being in the top fourteen things to NOT put on your resume. That’s right. Avoid these phrases. But, why? Well, think about it from the perspective of a hiring manager.
