Alaska Airlines “My Favorite Destination” Drawing Contest Winner!

This summer, Alaska Airlines and Women Back to Work partnered to celebrate and appreciate the family flight captains who do their best to keep everything turbulence-free at home while continuing their job search. As a result, we set out to help keep the families of ‘Returners’ engaged and motivated with an art contest with the winner receiving 4 tickets to fly anywhere in the US that Alaska Airlines flies in 2021

Numerous kids across the country participated by drawing their favorite destination with an Alaska Airlines plane flying overhead. To say we were impressed by their talent and imagination is an understatement.  And as difficult as it was, the Women Back to Work and Alaska Airlines team had to choose a winner.

We are excited to announce that the winner of our Alaska Airlines “Favorite Destination” drawing contest is Namratha Kapoor for the amazing drawing by her two girls. Namratha will receive 4 Alaska Airlines tickets to anywhere Alaska flies. The Women Back to Work and Alaska team (along with the help of an unnamed 3-year-old daughter) selected this drawing for its unique approach using teamwork and putting home as the center of everything. Congratulations Namratha and family.

Diana Birkett Rakow, Vice President, External Relations at Alaska Airlines shared this positive and encouraging message with our returners and moms.

“You are amazing! Making the juggle of work, school, and family takes everyone working together – and it is definitely not easy – but it is also so exciting. There’s rarely such a thing as a linear career path, and the nonlinear ones driven by experience and learning are so much more interesting. Whatever brought you back into the workforce – supporting your family, learning new things, building your career – the world will be better because of your perspective and drive. Cheers to you from all of us at Alaska Airlines, and thank you for sharing a piece of your journey with us!”  Thank you to everyone who participated in our drawing contest. We appreciate all your talent and hard work in creating your pictures.
